چکیده

We study the asymptotic behavior of a system modeling a composite material made of an elastic periodically perforated support, with period ε > 0, and a perfect gas placed in each of these perforations, as ε goes to zero. The model we use is linear corresponding to deformations around a reference configuration. We apply both two-scale asymptotic expansion and two-scale convergence methods in order to identify the limit behaviors as ε goes to 0. We state that in the limit, we get a two-scale linear elasticity–like boundary value problem. From this problem, we identify the corresponding homogenized and periodic cell equations which allows us to find the first corrector term. The analysis is performed both in the case of an incompressible and compressible material. We derive some mechanical properties of the limit materials by studying the homogenized coefficients. Finally, we numerically calculate the homogenized coefficients in the incompressible case, for different types of elastic materials. AMS subject classification: 93A90, 35B27, 35B40, 74F10

Prediction of elastic properties of heterogeneous materials with complex microstructures

The phase-field microelasticity (PFM) is adapted into a homogenization process to predict all the effective elastic constants of three-dimensional heterogeneous materials with complex microstructures. Comparison between the PFM approach and the Hashin–Shtrikman variational approach is also given. Using 3D images of two-phase heterogeneous media with regular and irregular microstructures, result...

Origin and evolution of ore-forming fluids in the magnetite±apatite Lake Siah deposit (Bafq): Evidence of fluid inclusions and oxygen stable isotope

The Lake Siah magnetite ± apatite deposit is situated in the northeastern of Bafq and Central Iran tectonic zone. The host rock of deposit is composed from lower Cambrian volcano-sedimentary sequence that has exposed as caldera complex. The iron mineralization is as massive ore and includes magnetite and hematite which form with apatite, quartz and calcite gangue minerals. Based on fluid inclus...

[hal-00833322, v1] Phase property identification using inverse homogenization approaches and field measurements

In this paper, work is focused on two-phase matrix/inclusion composite materials. A simple method is proposed to identify the elastic properties of one phase while the properties of the other phase are assumed to be known. The method is based on both an inverse homogenization scheme and mechanical fields measurements. The originality of the approach rests on the studied scale: the characteristi...

Mean-field homogenization of multi-phase thermo-elastic composites: a general framework and its validation

This paper deals with mean-field Eshelby-based homogenization techniques for multi-phase composites and focuses on three subjects which in our opinion deserved more attention than they did in the existing literature. Firstly, for two-phase composites, that is when in a given representative volume element all the inclusions have the same material properties, aspect ratio and orientation, an inte...

Evaluation of Deformability Properties of Rocks with Overlapping Inclusions by Different Averaging Methods

Mechanical properties of rocks with inclusions, which may correspond to porous rocks under limiting conditions, are influenced by their shape, distributions, and intrinsic properties. Many different averaging methods such as homogenization, micro-mechanics and microstructure methods are proposed to estimate average thermo-hydro-mechanical properties of rocks. In this paper, the authors evaluate...
